With Atletico Santa Rosa Barcelona having already clinched the NPL 1 Fall title, the main drama at the NorCal NPL Fall Showcase this weekend was determining who would join them this Spring in the NPL Champions League. Santa Clara Sporting were the next team to qualify, after picking up a 5-0 win over Walnut Creek Legends. Sporting finished off the weekend in second place after beating Marin FC, 5-2, on Sunday. De Anza Force and Odyssey South played to a 3-3 draw on Saturday which clinched a Champions League spot for De Anza and put Odyssey South in a position where they could clinch with a win Sunday. On Sunday, Odyssey South took care of business, beating Walnut Creek, 5-2, to grab their spot. Earthquakes East Valley clinched the final Champions League spot by beating Marin FC, 6-1, on Saturday. On Sunday, Earthquakes East Valley were beaten, 3-2, by De Anza Force. The De Anza win left them in third place at the end of the weekend, with Odyssey South finishing fourth and Earthquakes East Valley finishing in fifth.






U15 Boys NPL 2 - Fall

The NPL 2 Fall Division came down to the final game of the weekend at the NorCal NPL Fall Showcase. Coming into the weekend, Lamorinda controlled their own destiny if they could secure six points, as they held a one point lead over Almaden and Castro Valley. They won on Saturday, 4-1, over SMC Star, however Almaden and Castro Valley also picked up wins to keep the pressure on heading into the last day. On Sunday morning, Almaden beat MVLA 1-0, and Castro Valley beat Cal Odyssey 6-1, temporarily putting both teams in a first place tie. Needing a win in their final match, Lamorinda held on for a 2-1 victory over PAC San Jose to clinch the division title. Castro Valley finished in second, Almaden in third, with Santa Rosa United finishing fourth.






U15 Boys NPL 1 - Winter



The opening weekend of play took place for the NPL 1 Winter division this weekend at the NorCal NPL Fall Showcase. Galt FC and San Juan Lightning got off to quick starts as they each picked up six points in their first two games. Galt FC secured wins over Placer United (6-1) and Davis Legacy (3-1). San Juan beat Monarcas Academy (6-2) and Union Sacramento (2-1). Sacramento United finished the weekend in third place after winning their lone NPL Winter match, 2-1, over Monarcas. NPL Winter division matches continue on December 5th.
